With the Mobile Disaster Relief app, disaster response workers can plot their location on a map and attach photos showing the extent of the problem and information about what equipment and how many people are required. The app makes it much easier to coordinate logistics. The people from Hurricane Hackers, wavesforwater.org and 1love.org developed Mobile Disaster Relief during a three-day hackathon (see trend Hackathons) after Hurricane Sandy. Mobile Disaster Relief is available in Apple’s AppStore.
