Encore Fellowship Network

EFN facilitates a meaningful second career in the social sector.

The Encore Fellowship Network (EFN) facilitates a meaningful second career in the social sector for highly qualified employees of large companies. For six to twelve months, NGOs have an extra expert at their side, who, with their outsider’s perspective, can improve and support the organisation, its structure and its work. Started in 2009 with ten fellows and nine NGOs, the Encore Fellowship grew rapidly into a network of 200 organisations in twenty major American cities. Since the program was so well-received, Encore.org decided to develop a so-called Network Scaling Model, to be able to further expand the EFN. In doing so, Encore.org functions as a hub for many other network members, who after their application to and approval by the EFN, set up their own fellowship there, including financing and applicant support.
