The US American initiative Markets for Good (MFG) wants to create an information infrastructure in the social sector that gives many experts from many different sectors a chance to have their say, following the principle of “the more information, the better”. Through these contributions, MFG is able to provide an overview of all reports, studies and market investigations available in the non-profit sector. Alongside research reports, Markets for Good also offers an overview of all organisations that collect, analyse and share data for their projects. This way, a map can be created bit-by-bit, allowing NGOs to network more quickly and exchange information with one another. The platform is interactive, meaning that any user can post new examples of organisations or literature. Markets for Good is backed by Global Giving, Liquidnet, the Hewlett Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
