TheyWorkForYou

TheyWorkForYou puts Britain’s MPs, Lords and political parties under the microscope.

TheyWorkForYou puts Britain’s MPs, Lords and political parties under the microscope. It allows citizens to search and browse parliamentary proceedings, using as its primary data source Hansard, the official transcripts of the British parliament, in combination with other data such as election results. Users can search by topic, view a “digital dossier” of their local MP, and even set up email alerts for when specific words or specific MPs appear in Hansard.

TheyWorkForYou began in 2004 and was taken over by mySociety in 2006. The website has won a number of awards and has become an established part of the British political system by keeping members of the public informed about the work of politicians. It inspired similar websites in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
