Whether physician, apartment or school - thousands of refugees and migrants are facing major challenges everyday. Available in eight languages the information portal of Deutsche Telekom offers them information on contact points, the legal framework and live and work in Germany. Do I have to leave the country if my request for asylum is rejected? Am I allowed to continue education and if so, where? Am I permitted to work? These are the challenges people have to face in an unfamiliar environment with a foreign language. Visitors of the website can get in touch with aid organisations. Information on authorities, shopping centers or public transportation is available for each German city. The website is most commonly accessed in Arabic, followed by English. It also offers news in both of these languages.
Telekom operates the portal with the help of volunteers. They gather important information and keep everything up to date. The project is one of several initiatives launched by Deutsche Telekom in September 2015 as part of its aid to refugees. Although there is no shortage of such digital projects, Telekom decided to be present in this area as well - user-friendly and well strcutured.
